CANDLE CARE

TRIM YOUR WICK

Always trim the wick to about 1/4" before lighting the candle. Check in after about 1-2 hours of burning, and trim again removing any mushrooming if needed. A trimmed wick is the key to a virtually smokeless burn, and it also prolongs the life of your candle by regulating the intensity of the flame.

BURN EDGE TO EDGE

On the first burn burn for a few hours, allowing the entire surface of the candle to melt and reach all edges of the jar. This will help ensure proper burning and avoid "tunneling," which is when only a small area around the wick melts and burns downward leaving a large amount of unmelted wax around the sides of the jar. Should your candle begin to tunnel, very carefully cover it with a tent of foil and poke a hole about 1/4-1/2" in diameter in the top to allow smoke to exit. This will evenly disperse the heat around the candle and melt the wax around the edges. When the wax has melted all around, very carefully remove the foil -- it will be hot, be sure to use an oven mitt or other protection.

CENTER THE WICK

If the wick requires centering, extinguish the flame, then gently nudge it to the center with a skewer. This must happen when the candle is unlit, but the surface wax is still melted. Allow the candle to solidify before relighting.

BURN 4 HOURS ONLY

Burn no more than 4 hours at a time to preserve the fragrance intensity of your candle. Wait until the wax has completely cooled and solidified before relighting.

FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
